I love when I get to work on a quilt that I would never have had the guts to make myself. I love looking at quilts that use BLACK fabric - but for some reason, I am never able to make the commitment to it when I'm at the fabric store. I always gravitate more toward hues of brown. Here's a quilt that involves earthy tones that I love and the sharp crispness and drama of black sashing strips. Bev did a super job on this scrap-buster, and I had fun playing with new fillers for me. A leaf shape, concentric circles, and one of my faves - woodgrain. Tried ribbon candy in the sashing strips.
