Annie's Bed quilt

This super-sweet bed quilt was made by my friend, Trish, for her daugher, Annie. I love everything about it! The colors, the prints, the pattern, and I loved getting to quilt it!

Sunday School Table Runner

This table runner was truly a collaborative effort. My friend, Trish - a fellow mom at High River United Church - had the idea to get the kids of our church to make a table-runner for a special spot in their children's worship space. She had the kids color on patches of muslin, and then she "set" them with an iron to make the crayon permanent and pieced them into quilt blocks. I took it from there and quilted and bound the finished piece. It now adorns the table where the kids bring their lanterns with "the light of Christ", when they leave regular worship to have their own Sunday School time. I love the way these kids are so creative and feel so proud of the quilt they helped make!

Trio of Cutie Quilts

Here are three cutie quilts made by my quilty friend, Lorna. She asked me to apply an edge-to-edge quilting motif to each, and told me to just pick whatever I thought seemed appropriate. Well, when I gave the quilts back to Lorna, I had to apologize for the lack of variety, but all three of these quilts ASKED me for the same thing - loops. The snowy friends quilt - snowballs! The outer space quilt - planets! The red quilt - ladybugs! All versions of circles. So, I shifted my loopyness into high-gear, and bounced my way through this super cool quilts. Lovely!

Lorna's Dancing Bears quilt

Lorna created this adorable piece for one of her granddaughters, but my own daughters were thinking it should just stay at our house!

This quilt was very applique-heavy. The gorgeous stitching was really thick and crisp. For quilting, I outlined around each of the ballet dancing bears, and then I filled around them. I put simple ribbon candy in the sashing strips. Didn't want to go too dense, so that it will still be cuddly for the kiddo it's going to. But I also thought we needed to give those bears special treatment. It's so stinkin' cute!

Addie's Petals

This is the second "Petals in the Pot" I've gotten to work on. The first one went to Rumpled Quilt Skins in Okotoks, AB, as a store sample for their Advanced Applique class. And this one will be for RQS's sister store, Addie's in Cochrane, AB. It will actually hang as a pennant, with a straight top and a tapered bottom. I can't wait to stop by Addie's and see it, bound and finished!

Jane's Cherub quilt

This lovely Victorian-flavored quilt was fun to work on. Jane did a great job with this log cabin layout, and I enjoyed quilting edge-to-edge swirls. Lots of elegant elements in the fabrics - cherubs, roses, swirls, etc. So pretty!

Donna's Chic Country quilt

This is such a bewitching quilt pattern. Every time your eyes move, you see something else! Do you see the large white circles? The large dark circles? The white stars? The clovers? Such an intricate design! It really is like an exercise for the brain!

Donna did a beautiful job piecing all those curved seams. Hundreds and hundreds! Great job, Donna!

A lot of ruler work in this piece. It took forever! But I'm really happy with the results!
